It was about a fortnight before 2009’s Oxford & Cambridge Boat race. We were sitting in the pub with our friend, Ant, when we thought: “The boat race is well boring, innit?”

So we started the Goat Race instead. At exactly the same time as the boat race. At Spitalfields City Farm.

All these years later and it’s now one of London’s most loved events, each race raising over £10k (enough to feed all the animals on the farm for the whole year!), gaining crowds in excess of 2000 and making national and international news headlines.

Budget to make this happen: less than the cost of a bag of turnips.
